How Rouleur Coaching Began
The spark for Rouleur Coaching began during my time as an athlete on what was widely regarded as the premier junior and U23 development team in the country at the time. The standard within Whole Athlete/Specialized was unmatched, athletes were held to a level of professionalism, structure, and accountability that set it apart from every other development pathway in the U.S. Many alumni from that team have since gone on to perform at the very highest levels of the sport, but even then, it was clear that the environment itself was something special.
That experience shaped my understanding of effective coaching long before I formally stepped into the role. My coaching career officially began with Whole Athlete, where I developed a strong foundation in training principles, athlete communication, and long-term development. Alongside this practical experience, I earned a degree in Exercise Science, providing the scientific framework to support real-world coaching decisions. This combination of academic training and hands-on mentorship deepened my understanding of the nuanced ways athletes respond to training and reinforced the importance of building plans that reflect the individual rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions.
As I began working more closely with the Rouleur Development Team, the opportunity to build something of my own naturally followed. What started as a way to support developing athletes with thoughtful, individualized coaching grew into Rouleur Coaching. A company grounded in experience, education, and a clear commitment to athlete-first development.
Today, after helping numerous athletes meet and exceed their goals, Rouleur Coaching continues to evolve. I’m excited to now be bringing on an assistant coach who is in a similar position to where I once was—actively racing while developing as a coach within the same development program. This next step reflects the same values Rouleur Coaching was built on: learning, mentorship, and creating pathways for athletes to grow both in sport and beyond it.

Lasse Konecny
Assistant Coach
Lasse is a competitive cross-country mountain biker and endurance coach based in Breckenridge, Colorado. As a coach, he focuses on long-term athlete development and sustainable high performance, drawing on extensive experience training and racing at a high level—where consistency, patience, and attention to detail are paramount.
Mountain biking has been central to his athletic career, providing firsthand insight into building a durable aerobic engine, managing repeated high-intensity demands, and performing when it matters most. Equally important, he understands the critical role of recovery, nutrition, and mental balance in achieving long-term success.
Lasse employs a science-driven coaching framework, influenced by modern endurance models—including Norwegian-style principles that emphasize aerobic development, metabolic efficiency, and consistency over time. Every athlete receives an individualized plan tailored to their physiology, goals, and real-life constraints.
Believing that great coaching goes beyond prescribing workouts, Lasse helps athletes understand the process, trust their training, and develop the skills and self-awareness needed to perform at their best year after year. Whether guiding athletes toward elite results or personal milestones, he brings professionalism, care, and commitment to every coaching relationship.
At Rouleur Coaching, Lasse’s mission is simple: to help athletes build the engine, resilience, and confidence required to succeed on the bike—and beyond.
Beyond Results
While performance outcomes matter, athletes often highlight the less obvious improvements: better consistency, fewer setbacks, clearer understanding of training, and increased confidence in their process.
This focus on development is what allows results to follow—often beyond what athletes initially expected.
Clarity in Training
Athletes gain a clear understanding of why they are doing the work—not just what to do each day. Training has purpose, progression, and context, which reduces guesswork and builds confidence in the process.
Consistency Without Burnout
Rather than cycling between peaks and setbacks, athletes learn how to train consistently over time. Load is managed carefully, allowing progress to accumulate while minimizing interruptions from fatigue or injury.
Adaptability & Self-Awareness
Athletes develop a stronger sense of how their body responds to training stress. This awareness allows them to communicate more effectively, adjust when needed, and take ownership of their development.
Long-Term Confidence
Over time, athletes gain confidence not just in their fitness, but in their ability to train intelligently and sustainably. This confidence carries forward—across seasons, disciplines, and changing goals.
